4 tied for Champions Tour lead.
HOOVER, Ala. — Joey Sindelar, Bobby Clampett, Russ Cochran and Peter Senior shot 7-under 65s on Friday in the Regions Charity Classic to share the lead after the record-setting opening round. The 77 players in the field had a scoring average of 69.519 on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail's Ross Bridge course, breaking the tournament record of 70.397 set in 2002 when the Champions Tour event was played at Greystone.

Keith Fergus says Regions Charity Classic will get a boost from Fred Couples.
He was quick to pay homage to the sensational form of fellow University of Houston golfer Fred Couples. "There's very few guys on either tour who really move the needle," Fergus said. "Freddie is one, as is Greg Norman, plus Phil (Mickelson) and Tiger (Woods), of course. "There's no doubt that Gene Hallman and the Regions folks are thrilled "Boom Boom" will be in town. Regions Charity Classic Calls for Entries in the Third Annual Junior Poster Contest Supporting Education.

through fifth grade Alabama students to put on their creative hats and exhibit their artistic

Champions Tour Announces 2008 Charity of the Year.
(BOCA RATON, FL) – The PGA TOUR’s Champions Tour has selected Community Grief Support
Service, of Homewood, AL, a beneficiary of the Regions Charity Classic in Birmingham, as its 2008 Charity
of the Year. The announcement was made yesterday by Champions Tour President Mike Stevens at the
