Participating charities receive every single penny of the donations generated! Additionally, you have a chance to win great prizes when you pitch in to help the soliciting charity! |
Birdies for Charity Accepting Pledges Until June 17
Keep donating to Birdies for Charity! During the 2009 Regions Charity Classic, the professionals made 781 birdies. However, the program continues to accept flat-dollar donations until June 17, 2009. After months of fundraising, continue to give the 141 participating charities something to smile about all summer long.

Congratulations to the 2009 “Guess the Birdies” winner is Charles Moss from Birmingham, AL who gave to Assistance League of Birmingham! He won the “Stay and Play Package” at the World Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine, FL. Find out more about the World Golf Hall of Fame here.

Kick Off PowerPoint Presentation
- Birdies for Charity is a fundraising program designed to give participating charities the opportunity to generate contributions for their organization based on the number of “birdies” made by Champions Tour players during the 2009 Regions Charity Classic.
Eligible Charities
- Must have 501(c) 3 status as recognized by the IRS which includes all schools
- Must be registered with the Alabama Secretary of State and meet the Better Business Bureau Standards for charitable solicitations
Charity Duties
- Participating charities solicit pledges of $.02 or more per birdie or a flat donation of $10 or more from individuals or corporations
- Fundraising program that has no risk for charitable organizations. There are NO out-of-pocket expenses or fees to participating charities. All administrative costs will be handled by the Regions Charity Classic Foundation.
- Each participating charity will receive 100% of their collected donation
Benefits and Facts
- Increase charitable contributions to Alabama charities
- Unlimited number of charities will be able to raise additional funds using the Regions Charity Classic as their tool
- 2009 Goal is to raise $250,000
- There are an average of 800 birdies made by professionals at the Regions Charity Classic
- One $.02 pledge per birdie would net $16.00 for charity
Weekly Give-a-Way
- Starting on March 6th, we will have a weekly give-a-way every Friday for the Birdies for Charity donors until the tournament

Bonus Bucks
- Top Three charities based on the collected amount will also receive Bonus Bucks! Read the Information Manual for more details.
Guess the Birdies Contest
- Every donor will have the opportunity to guess the exact amount of birdies that will be made during the tournament
- Those that guess the exact number will be entered into a drawing to win a "Stay & Play" Package at the World Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine, FL! Click here for more details
